An empty or filled hourglass? - depending on how you view it. The artwork is a comment on many issues in our life, where time is a matter of various outcomes. At the moment, time has never been more actualized when it occur about our questions on global warming.
The artwork has an optical illusion, its seems like the logs curves. Its built on mathematic principles, the number of 60 logs in one height is repeating the time issue, as well as the shadows made by the sun. Its inspired by traditional Norwegian log techniques. The siberian larch the artist choose because of long lifespans on artwork because of slow growing on tundra. The artist is from Northern Norway where siberian larch in old days was highly appreciate timber fond floating or stranded in the coastline after storms on the Barents ocean.
