The triennial exhibition is open to all artists and designers with no geographical restrictions. It is open to professionals and students, individuals and artist groups. The artist must hold the copyright to his or her work, and the work may not have been created under an academic supervisor. The exhibition will take place from 21 April 2017 to 23 July 2017 at the Estonian Museum of Applied Arts and Design in Tallinn, Estonia (www.etdm.ee).

PARTICIPATION FEE Participation fee is 30 EUR (+ VAT). All artists taking part of the open call will receive one copy of the triennial catalogue.

The works for the exhibition will be selected by an international five-member jury. The selection of the works is anonymous and the decision will be finalised at the end of October 2016 based on submitted digital images and information uploaded onto the Defol.io platform (http://defol.io/triennaal/2016). The applicants will be notified about the jury’s decision by 21 November 2016. The jury will also award prizes to selected works before the exhibition opens. The decision of the jury is final and cannot be contested.

The exhibition prize fund is 5000 euros. A Grand Prix and two equal second place prizes will be awarded at the triennial. The jury reserves the right to make changes in the awarding of the prizes. The winners will be announced at the exhibition opening on 21 April 2017.

The triennial is accompanied by a catalogue, one copy of which will be sent to all artists taking part of the open call.

A seminar entitled “Modes of mediating applied art and design” will take place on 21 April 2017 in Tallinn; the working language will be English. The participating artists will also give talks on 22 April 2017.
