We advise starting with a mild practice if you are incredibly unfit or inflexible until you have developed the strength and flexibility for more difficult sequences. You should be able to easily transition into a regular hatha yoga class if you consider yourself to be reasonably flexible and fit. After you've mastered the fundamental poses, consider taking a vinyasa or flow class. It is advised that you hold off on doing hot yoga, Bikram, or Ashtanga until you have gained some strength and endurance. Yoga should always be practiced slowly and carefully, erring on the side of caution and safety.
