The theme for TAB 2017 – “bioTallinn” – challenges typical assumptions of what constitutes the boundary between natural and artificial realms. The combination of bio- and info-technology was also used in the design process. Slime mold helped with important decisions eg picking the typeface. Symbol colours for organic and artificial life were used throughout the communication together with images of computer-generated organic models.
TAB 2017 keskne teema „bioTallinn“ seab küsimuse alla arusaamad loodusliku ja tehisliku piiridest. Ka biennaali visuaalne identiteet on loodud bio- ja infotehnoloogiat kombineerides. Limahallitus aitas langetada olulisi disainiotsuseid, näiteks valida kirjatüüpi. Läbivaks elemendiks on orgaanilise ja tehisliku sümbolvärvid, keskse visuaalina kasutatakse arvutiga genereeritud orgaanilisi mudelid.
