Alar Kotli was Estonia’s very own Leonardo da Vinci – an architect, sculptor, painter and graphic artist. He is first and foremost known as the architect of the reconstructed Estonia theatre and Tallinn’s Song Festival Grounds.
The exhibition of his life’s work was designed to showcase the man as more than just an architect – as a product designer, an artist and a man from the small town of Väike-Maarja. Simple plywood boards, printing straight onto plywood and symbols, symbols and more symbols also showed this master of modernism as a great person.
