Designing a website for a design agency – a challenging, if not scary prospect. The amount of passionate and in oftencases conflicting opinions, wishes and conditions can overwhelm even the most seasoned professionals. And the higher the ambition level of the design agency, the higher the expectations… Yet the core of the brief was simple and single-minded, put bluntly by one of the founders:
Regardless of the impressive international credentials and award haul, and work that speaks for itself, BOND’s website needed to “look far cooler” than it did previously. To stand out, and to appeal to major global clients. Hence moving away from the clichéd b&w colour scheme and minimalism, yet keeping the accumulated street credibility among the peers – and still letting the work itself to shine brightly.
And almost by accident – or in true digital first approach, to sound strategic – the design decisions made here ended up defining and pushing forward a whole new identity for BOND. Which is cool. Literally.
