In 2014 there was only 1 daycare center equipped to take care of children with severe disabilities. Their parents, often on the verge on mental breakdown, need to be alert 24/7.
Our goal was to raise enough funds to establish a 2nd such center. But enough money was raised to open FOUR instead of one in 2014 and several more in 2015.
Also, enough awareness was gained to make the Ministry of Social Affairs acknowledge the problem and start to co-finance an entire network of daycare centers.
