We were faced with 2 challenges on the new redesign.
First was to rethink the payment flow. Working with their product managers and engineers we threw out pretty much everything and re-built the payment flow from ground up.
New approach gives you a clear sense where you are in the process and prompts only for relevant input and information to minimize the distraction.
Second challenge was to re-design the landing pages and public web and bring the new brand indentity onto the whole site. Result was fresh and more lively design with nifty new type of details like animated testimonials video player.
Both solutions have proved to be a huge success and TransferWise has exploded since then.
Since TransferWise moves a lot faster than the yearly cycle of Design Awards, the visuals have evolved, but these core decisions are still very much standing.
